| Cynthiana a popular winter day destination
Cynthiana is a pretty town even in the winter and Biancke’s restaurant is always satisfying, but that wasn’t the motivation for the forty or so Model A owners venturing out on this cold winter day. With the holiday madness behind us and spring fever still several months in the future the best excuse left is cabin fever. You need a day out every now and then, especially in the winter, that doesn’t include going to work or anything else productive. Driving Model A Fords through the backroads fills the bill just right. Toss in a good meal with friends and you have something to look forward to each month.
Checking the Model A to member ratio in the parking lot revealed that each of the old cars had seven passengers, or possibly several folks drove their modern car. Regardless of how they arrived everyone had a good time catching up on the latest happenings in their friends’ lives. A popular topic of discussion was the many old cars getting some mechanical refurbishing this winter in preparation for a very active tour schedule this summer. The new 2004 club calendar also generated a lot of positive conversation. For a decade Herman Butler has continued to make each edition better than the year before. You know it’s good when people save them for many years.
Another short but excellent tour is planned for Saturday, Feb. 28th to Winchester. Along with a scenic ride and a good meal we’ll also get a little Clark County history lesson at a new area museum. Be ready to leave from Eastland shopping Center around 11:00. If your A is a little too drafty for winter comfort come in your modern car, you’ll still have a good time.
