Note itinerary changes for April 22-23 overnight trip
There’s still time — but not much — to make your room reservation for our spring overnight trip on April 22 and 23 (Saturday and Sunday). As of April 4, a few rooms were still available for our club at America’s Best Inn in Brandenburg, Ky., for the night of April 22. But you’d better hurry. Any rooms not claimed by April 15 will be released.
Call (270) 422-1700 to make your reservations. Be sure to mention either Central Kentucky Model A Club or Mary Rhoads to get the discounted room rate of approximately $80 plus tax. Breakfast — offering both hot and cold items — is included in the price. Please note that there have been some changes to our itinerary since it was last published in the newsletter. On Saturday morning, April 22, we will meet at Arby’s in Palomar Centre in Lexington, at the corner of Harrodburg Road and Man o’ War Blvd., for departure at 9 a.m. sharp.
Those who wish to join the group along the way may meet us around 10 a.m. at our rest stop at Burger King in front of Walmart in Lawrenceburg, or at our lunch stop, which will be at Dairy Queen in Mt. Washington, Ky.
We will then continue to Mauckport, Indiana, and visit the historic Squire Boone Caverns. Afterward, we’ll drive a few miles to Brandenburg, Ky., where we’ll have dinner at an old jailhouse-turned-restaurant on the Ohio River. On Sunday’s return trip, we’ll stop for lunch at Mammy’s Kitchen in Bardstown. Jeff and Mary Rhoads will be leading the tour.
